Transformers 7 : ce héros sera dans la suite d'un des meilleurs films catastrophe des années 90

Le prometteur Anthony Ramos incarne Noah, le héros du blockbuster Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, qui n'est autre que le reboot de la lucrative franchise robotique initiée par Michael Bay en 2007 et la suite de Bumblebee. Il succède ainsi à Shia LaBeouf, Mark Wahlberg et Hailee Steinfeld.

Né en 1991, Anthony grandit à Brooklyn avec sa mère, son frère et sa sœur. Pendant sa scolarité, ses passions sont le chant et le baseball. Après le lycée, il intègre l'American Musical and Dramatic Academy, et en sort diplômé en 2011. Il obtient alors plusieurs rôles dans des spectacles musicaux.

En 2015, le jeune homme participe à la comédie musicale Hamilton qui rencontre un grand succès sur les planches. Parallèlement, il trouve quelques rôles secondaires au cinéma. On le voit ainsi dans White Girl (2016), A Star Is Born (2018) ou encore Godzilla 2 : Roi des monstres (2019).

Il est plébiscité, en 2018, par la critique pour avoir campé Manny dans le drame Monsters and Men de Reinaldo Marcus Green, qui obtient le prix spécial du jury à Sundance. En 2020, Anthony Ramos reprend son personnage dans Hamilton, une captation de la comédie musicale de Broadway.

La même année, le comédien change de registre et incarne un agent du FBI corrompu qui va se racheter dans The Good Criminal, un film d'action porté par Liam Neeson. Puis, il double le roi Trollex dans Les Trolls 2 : tournée mondiale, suite du lucratif film d'animation musical de 2016.

Anthony est aussi actif côté petit écran, comme en témoignent ses prestations dans Will & Grace, mais surtout Nola Darling n'en fait qu'à sa tête, une relecture contemporaine du film de Spike Lee sorti en 1986. Dans En analyse, il campe un patient qui travaille comme aide-soignant à domicile.

En 2021, on le retrouve au cinéma dans la peau du héros de D'où l'on vient, une comédie musicale située dans la communauté latino-américaine adaptée de In The Heights, un succès à Broadway. A l'aise dans le doublage, il prête sa voix pour Les Trolls des fêtes enchantées et Les Bad Guys.

De plus en plus demandé, Anthony campe en 2023 le héros de Transformers: Rise of the Beasts de Steven Caple Jr., septième blockbuster de saga cinématographique qui a débuté en 2007. Pour l'occasion, il se retrouve au cœur d'une guerre acharnée entre les Autobots et les Decepticons.

Le natif de Brooklyn jouera prochainement l'ingénieur d'un vaisseau spatial dans Distant et sera au casting impressionnant de Dumb Money, qui revient sur l'affaire GameStop. Mais surtout, il sera à l'affiche de Twisters, suite du film catastrophe culte de 1996 emmené par Bill Paxton et Helen Hunt.
